Tensorex Sense Installation on Sheffield, Supertram Network

On Friday 22nd June, the Tensorex Sense unit was installed on the Sheffield Supertram network.

With an installation time of under one hour, Tensorex Sense proved just how simple digital transformation can be. The device was quickly installed, easily configured, and immediately ready to provide remote monitoring capabilities from virtually anywhere in the world.

This milestone marks another step forward in the digitalization of rail infrastructure. Tensorex Sense is a next-generation monitoring solution designed to transform overhead line tensioning systems into intelligent, connected assets. By enhancing the proven Tensorex C+ spring tensioning device, it delivers:

– Real-time condition monitoring
– Predictive maintenance capabilities
– Remote asset visibility; with user defined alerts sent to your device
– Improved network reliability
– Maintenance Free
– Data-driven asset management

The successful installation demonstrates how operators can rapidly deploy our smart monitoring technology with minimal disruption, while gaining valuable insights into the performance and condition of critical overhead line equipment.

With temperatures in Sheffield reaching a scorching 40°C in recent days, the install has also highlighted the system’s environmental resilience and ability to operate reliably under challenging weather conditions. With temperatures increasing globally each year our equipment is made to withstand global climate change.

Thank you to Supertram for all there support and a great achievement for everyone involved, and an exciting first step in bringing intelligent tensioning system monitoring to rail networks worldwide.
