Case Studies
Turkish Success

Mosdorfer is approaching a significant milestone with the imminent fulfillment of the third major delivery of catenary system components for the Mersin – Adana – Osmaniye – Gaziantep Catenary Railway Line Project. This third shipment represents approximately 75% of the total material required for the project, marking substantial progress toward the project’s overall completion

The contract, awarded to Mosdorfer by Rönesans Holding in late 2022, is being financed by UK Export Finance (UKEF) as part of the United Kingdom’s support for global infrastructure development. The project forms a critical component of Turkey’s ongoing efforts to modernize and expand its railway infrastructure.

The project involves the electrification and upgrade of approximately 160 kilometers of double-track railway, linking the key cities of Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, and Gaziantep in southeastern Turkey. Once complete, the upgraded railway line will support design speeds of up to 200 km/h, significantly reducing travel time from the current 6 hours and 23 minutes to just 2 hours and 15 minutes—a transformational improvement for both passenger and freight transportation in the region.

This ambitious infrastructure project includes a diverse array of civil and engineering structures, including:

  • – 6 viaducts
  • – 6 tunnels
  • – 32 railway bridges
  • – 30 road overpasses
  • – 55 road underpasses
  • – 21 stations

Each of these components demands highly reliable and advanced overhead contact line (OCL) technology to ensure safe, consistent power delivery for high-speed rail operations.

As a global leader in catenary systems, Mosdorfer has been entrusted with the supply of key components vital to the project’s success. To date, the company has delivered or is in the process of delivering:

  • – 13,000 cantilevers
  • – 1,200 automatic tensioning devices
  • – 290 Tensorex C+ spring tensioning devices

These components are crucial in maintaining the mechanical tension and alignment of overhead wires, ensuring optimal current collection and safe operation of electric trains under high-speed conditions.

Mosdorfer’s involvement in this project underlines the company’s long-standing reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability in the field of railway electrification. The successful execution of this contract reinforces Mosdorfer’s position as a trusted partner in large-scale international infrastructure initiatives.

As the project progresses, Mosdorfer remains committed to meeting all milestones with the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and engineering excellence.
